Dr. Tanya Pergola PhD, C-IAYT


Dr. Tanya’s journey into holistic wellness started from a very early age. Her Russian-Italian mother used food as medicine while her Sicilian father, a pharmaceutical executive, shared with her both his curiosity and skepticism of non-plant-based medications. When her father died from a brain tumor at a relatively young age, Dr. Tanya was sparked to use her PhD-level education in Sociology and Social Psychology to dive deeply into societal and cultural influences on a person’s health and well-being. Starting in the United States and then moving to East Africa, Dr. Tanya gathered all the knowledge she could from both indigenous African tribes and cutting-edge modern science to understand the root causes of illness and the best remedies for each individual patient. Apprenticing with Maasai elders and with Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. Tanya has created “The Pergola Method”, her own brand of holistic wellness that has helped thousands of people around the world. Drawn now to serve her local village in Coconut Grove, Miami, Dr. Tanya joins forces with Plantia Wellness to help people transform the world by transforming themselves.

The Pergola Method™ is Dr. Tanya’s very own combination of modern science coupled with Maasai and Ayurvedic ancient wisdom traditions. These ancient wisdom systems hold the belief that wellbeing is rooted in our understanding of our own mind and body as a whole. Good health is much more than just being free of sickness, it results from our enhanced awareness of the dynamic interplay between the natural environment, society, our body, mind and spirit, and the choices we make to live our life.
